La Barceloneta is known for its sandy beach (which made an appearance in Don Quixote, book 2) and its many restaurants and nightclubs along the boardwalk.
The company's new building, projected by the architects Enric Miralles and Benedetta Tagliabue, is located in La Barceloneta, a neighbourhood in the Ciutat Vella district, near Barcelona's seafront.
The Torre Mapfre is located in this neighborhood, while the Hotel Arts, the Casino Barcelona and the "Peix d'Or" (goldfish), a large metal sculpture designed by Frank Gehry, are located at one edge of the Barceloneta neighborhood, close to the border with the Vila Olímpica del Poblenou.
