In 1999 the line was re-routed in the area north of Lachendorf, to make way for the expansion of an industrial concern and a new station Lachendorf Nord was built.
In addition there has been a golf course on the eastern edge of the village for several years on the road to Lachendorf.
Shortly after moving to Germany, Rausch started playing football at the local club, TuS Lachendorf.
