Lacordaire, Notice historique sur les Manufactures impériales de tapisseries des Gobelins et de tapis de la Savonnerie, précédée du catalogue des tapisseries qui y sont exposées (Paris, 1853)
Following Lacordaire’s advice he joined the circle of entomologists in Liege which included his longstanding friend Félicien Chapuis (1824-1879) and also Edmond de Sélys Longchamps (1813-1900) and the English entomologist Robert Mac Lachlan (1837-1904).
After a few translations from the French (van Hemen, de Ravignan, and Lacordaire) he began his independent literary career with small works on the history of early Christian literature in the first centuries and the Middle Ages, among them: "Ægidius von Rom"
His principal works are: A társadolom alapoloci (The fundamental principles of human society), Budapest, 1864 in which he develops the ideas of Lacordaire and others against modern errors.
Faced with family and increasing financial problems, Janmot came to Toulon, and despite some orders (new Portrait of Lacordaire (1878, Museum of Versailles), Rosaire (Saint-Germain-en-Laye, 1880), Martyrdom of St. Christine (Solliès-Pont, 1882), he lived a retired life.
