It has world class golf courses, such as the Laem Chabang International Country Club designed by Jack Nicklaus.
It is in a heavily industrial zone consisting of manufacturing and shipping industries, supported by the sprawling port of Laem Chabang (20th largest in the world, see List of world's busiest container ports).
Two large infrastructure projects worth a total of 36 billion baht, both railways, have been approved on October 23, 2007, to be built to railway links up from Korat and Lat Krabang with Laem Chabang port.
