He was born at Leńcze near Lanckorona in 1925, he was educated at the Secondary School of Fine Arts and the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, graduating in 1956.
The merger was passed during a meeting in the manor of senator L. Hammerling's from Lanckorona and at times it is referred to as Pact of Lanckorona.
Its name refers to the fact, that it was negotiated in the real estate of Senator Ludwik Hammerling, who was elected in the dictrict which included the village of Lanckorona.
