He took part in the sieges and battles of the 1793 campaign, Valenciennes, Lincelles, Dunkirk and Lannoy.

Baldwin van Lannoy (Hénin-Beaumont, 1388 - Huppaye, 1474), was a Flemish statesman, and ambassador for Philip the Good at the court of Henry V of England.
With the British Guards brigade under Henry Fox leading the attack, the Duke of York's left column under Ralph Abercromby, stormed into Lannoy, Willems and Mouvaux.
Lannoy first married Marie Françoise le Vasseur and they had a son; Philippe de Lannoy, Comte de la Motterie who inherited his father's titles.
Two other singers named Lannoy, Jehan and David, were active at the French court in the middle of the 15th century, and may have been his relatives; in addition, a "Karolus de Launoy", active at Bourges and later in France, was previously confused with him.

Joannes de Lannoy, the only son of Eustachius De Lannoy, was killed in battle of Kalakkad on 14 September 1765 at the age of twenty.
