He is the grand son of General Driss Riffi Temsamani who was named Pasha of the Rif Republic in 1926 then Asila, Larache and Tetuan.

The Larache expedition occurred in June 1765 when French Navy troops attacked the Moroccan city of Larache following a bombardment of Salé and Rabat.

It then continued along the Atlantic coast through Iulia Constantia Zilil (Asilah) and Lixus (Larache) to Sala Colonia (near Rabat).
