Lariosaurus

Discovered at Perledo on the Lake Como in 1830, it was named in 1847 by Curioni, its name meaning "Lizard from Lario", the ancient name of the lake.

Varenna

The main sights is the Castello di Vezio, which, among the rest, houses a small museum dedicated to the Lariosaurus, a sea reptile from the Middle Triassic period.
