One of Macio's earliest contribution was the discovery of Lazaros Christodoulopoulos, who was offered a trial by Liverpool.
In December, in order for Panathinaikos' president, Giannis Alafouzos, to save money for the team, he released players with high-paying contacts; as a result Christodoulopoulos was released alongside Nikos Spyropoulos, Loukas Vyntra, Antonis Petropoulos and Sebastian Leto.
On August 29, the coach of the Greek National team announced the convening of Dimitrios Papadopoulos after six years for the match against Liechtenstein in Vaduz at the Rheinpark Stadion stadium valid for the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification, coming in at 84 minutes of the second half replacing of Lazaros Christodoulopoulos.
