The film is one of Rohmer's least-seen features in the Anglosphere; it did not screen in the UK until 1966, and didn't show until 1970 in the United States, where it has never been available on home video (an English-subtitled DVD is available in the UK).

During the sixties, Bisciglia began to appear more frequently in television series and television films, although he was included in many films such as The Wretches, with Michèle Morgan, Les vieux de la vieille, with Pierre Fresnay, Paris nous appartient, Le signe du lion, and in 1966, he appeared in his first leading role in Alain Cuniot's L'or et le plomb.
Sous le signe du lion is a Quebec television series comprising thirty 30-minute episodes, directed by Jean-Pierre Sénécal and broadcast in 1961.
