1955 – Lejaren Hiller and Leonard Isaacson used ILLIAC I to compose the Illiac Suite which was one of the first pieces of music to be written with the aid of a computer.
From 1927-50 Hiller was commissioned by Davis & Geck to produce the prints for a series of historic advertisements entitled “Sutures in Ancient Surgery,” and published in 1944 as “Surgery through the Ages”.

The collection was widely acclaimed, and in 1937 won the Edward Bok Award for advertising.
He collaborated with Lejaren Hiller on the computer-programmed acoustic composition, Illiac Suite (1957).
