Louis-Sébastien Lenormand

Lenormand was succeeded by André-Jacques Garnerin who made the first parachute descent from high altitude (in a gondola detached from a balloon) with the help of a non-rigid parachute on October 22, 1797, and his wife Jeanne Geneviève Labrosse who made a similar descent two years later.

During his time at the excise office Lenormand started publishing in technology journals and filed patents for a paddle boat, a clock (successfully installed at the Paris Opera) and a public lighting system.

Marie Anne Lenormand

The 36 card Lenormand deck is modelled on a deck of cards published c1799 as part of Das Spiel der Hoffnung (The Game of Hope), a game of chance designed by Johann Kaspar Hechtel of Nuremberg.

René Lenormand

René Lenormand (1846–1932), was a French composer, father of playwright Henri-René Lenormand (1882–1951).
