He is the youngest son of Iloilo Governor Niel Tupas (formerly a Municipal Mayor of Barotac Viejo, Iloilo; Assemblyman of Western Visayas or region VI; and was also Congressman of the 5th District of the Province of Iloilo) and former Municipal Mayor Myrna Causing Tupas of Barotac Viejo, Iloilo.
