The film won several awards, including the Children's Jury Prizes: Live-Action Feature Film or Video Certificate of Excellence from the Chicago International Children's Film Festival, USA and the Best Feature Film and Best Screenplay from the National Film Awards Lielais Kristaps, Latvia.
She has received the Lielais Kristaps award for "best animated film" six times, for her films Kā es braucu Ziemeļmeitas lūkoties (1980), Kabata (1983), Skatāmpanti (1988), Ness un Nesija (1993), Pasaciņas. Miega vilcieniņš (1998), and Neparastie rīdzinieki (2001).
