Life with Father is a humorous autobiographical book of stories compiled in 1935 by Clarence Day, Jr., which was adapted in 1939 into the longest running Broadway play by Lindsay and Crouse, which was, in turn, made into a 1947 movie and a television series.
The title is a play on the longest-running non-musical on Broadway, Life with Father (the title being the only connection between the two works).
They wrote the play Life with Father, which opened in 1939 and starred Lindsay and his wife Dorothy Stickney.
Oscar Serlin (January 30, 1901 - February 27, 1971) was a Broadway producer, best known for producing Life with Father, which opened in 1939 and became the longest running Broadway show of all time, at the time; it still holds the record as the longest running non-musical.
