St Bernard Pass

Little St Bernard Pass lies between Mont Blanc and the Graian Alps, connecting Bourg St Maurice, France to Courmayeur, Italy


La Rosière, Savoie

It was developed in the early 1950s on the site of an old hamlet, and was linked with the nearby Italian resort of La Thuile in 1984 via two fairly long drag lifts through the Little St Bernard Pass.

Main chain of the Alps

Once more the chain bends to the north-west, rising in several lofty peaks (the highest is the Aiguille de la Grande Sassière, 3,751 m), before attaining the considerable depression of the Little St Bernard Pass.
