unusual facts about Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom

Eastern Orthodox worship

In the Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom the Axion Estin follows as: "It is truly meet to bless you, O Theotokos, ever-blessed and most pure, and the Mother of our God. More honorable than the cherubim, beyond compare more glorious than the seraphim, without corruption you gave birth to God, the Word. True Theotokos, we magnify you."

Giuseppe Catalani

We owe him also annoted editions of two works much used for the spiritual formation of the Catholic clergy: the letter of St. Jerome A Nepotianum suum (Rome, 1740) and St. John Chrysostom's work on the priesthood, De Sacerdotio, Rome, 1740).
