On December 22, 2009 Atlantic Wholesalers Limited and Loblaws filed a joint claim against the coach and Bathurst Van Inc.
Actor William Shatner did a number of television commercials for Loblaws in the 1970s, and finished the ad spots by saying originally, "At Loblaws, more than the price is right; but, by gosh the price is right!" later shortened to, "At Loblaws, more than the price is right."
In the early 1970s a new site was secured for the Library and on September 21, 1973, the library opened at 134 North Second Street in a former Loblaws Supermarket.
Unusual for the time, his branches were located in working class areas and Loblaws stores, featuring extended service hours.

In 1974, W. Galen Weston was appointed Chairman and Managing Director of George Weston Limited, and subsequently company President.
The Merchandise Building was one of the first large redevelopment projects east of Yonge Street, and has sparked other projects in the area such as the conversion of the Toronto RCMP Building into a luxury hotel, the old CBC building on Jarvis Street into condominiums and the new headquarters of the National Ballet School, and the storied Maple Leaf Gardens into a Loblaws supermarket and Ryerson University athletic centre.
