Anna Sprengel (allegedly died in 1891), countess of Landsfeldt, love-child of Ludwig I of Bavaria and Lola Montez, is a person whose existence was never proven, and whom it now seems was invented by William Wynn Westcott to confer legitimacy on the Golden Dawn.
They had four children (with whom she always spoke Italian), including Ludwig III of Bavaria and she was a great support for Luitpold in all his political activities - during the 1848 Revolution she spoke against Lola Montez and sought to isolate opponents of the monarchy.
He was associated with the editing of the memoirs of the actress Lola Montez, one of the lovers of Alexandre Dumas (Aventures de la celèbre danseuse raconté par elle-même, 1847).
He often performed solo works in free verse based on the lives of the grand dames of history, including Lucrezia Borgia, Jocasta, Medea, Lola Montez, Nefertiti, Clytemnestra, and Carlotta, Empress of Mexico.
