The regiment was formed from the remnants of the Prince of Condé's Army after it was disbanded in 1800.
In April 1562, he and Robertet de Fresne were sent to Orléans with the Prince of Conde, who after the massacre of Vassy, grabbed Orléans, Blois, Tours, Angers and Le Mans.
His reputation increased after his finishing of a mineral cabinet (depicted) for the Prince of Condé.
It was passed through to the Princes of Condé, members of the House of Bourbon by a marriage between Louis Joseph de Bourbon, Prince of Condé to Charlotte de Rohan who was created Viscountess in 1745.
While in exile in 1811, the duc de Bourbon had made the acquaintance at a bordello in Piccadilly of one Sophia Dawes or Daw, a maid in a brothel from the Isle of Wight.

After the Bourbon Restoration in 1815, Louis Henri brought her to Paris and arranged a marriage for her to Baron Adrien Victor de Feucheres, an officer in the royal guard.
