Filming was undertaken at Ferryfield Airport in Lydd, Kent, with the offices and planes of real airline Silver City Airways transformed for all three series of the productions.
He obtained the vicarage of Tenterden in 1626, and was presented to the benefice of Lydd by the king in September 1627, but only held it for a few weeks.

Filming took place at sparsely populated areas of Kent and East Sussex, including Dungeness, Romney Marsh, Lydd, Camber Sands, Rye Harbour, Winchelsea Beach and Dymchurch.
Some of these sound mirrors still survive along England's south coast, such as those to be found at Denge, near Dungeness, to the west side of a lake slightly north of Lydd-on-Sea.
