The discoverer named this asteroid for the cities of Frydek (Silesia) and Mistek (Moravia), located on opposite sides of the Ostrovice River.

The original group in Austrian uniforms was remade in 1920s into a memorial of victims of WWI and placed in the village Předměřice nad Jizerou, with copies in Místek and in Nové Město na Moravě.
Despite this, Jan of Pernštejn remained as a regent and held the effective government until 9 May 1545, when he finally renounced to the regency only in exchange of the lands of Místek and Friedland as a pledge.
