In service rifle matches, a competitor can only use an M1 Garand style rifle, a M1A (M14) style rifle, SR-25 (M110) style rifle, or an AR-15 (M16) style rifle.
It could be fired from any standard 8 inch (203mm) howitzer e.g. the M110 or M115
The mission of the Scranton Army Ammunition Plant (SCAAP) is to manufacture 105 mm and 155 mm-diameter projectile bodies, including the M795, 120 mm family of projectiles, M107, M804, M485, MK64-2, and the M110.
