After reaching and surpassing Viniega's standard, he entered the Madrid Royal Conservatory to study under Víctor Mirecki Larramat (who was later to become his father-in-law).

In 1920 he returned to the Madrid Conservatory as senior professor, remaining there until his retirement in 1962.

He started his studies in solfeggio, piano and choir at the Madrid Royal Conservatory with Carmen Ledesma at the department of Professor Joaquín Soriano.
Sofya Melikyan completed her studies at the Royal Conservatory of Madrid with Joaquin Soriano, École Normale de Musique de Paris with Ramzi Yassa and Manhattan School of Music in New York where she was a scholarship student of Solomon Mikowsky.
