In September 1933 two prototypes were presented in Mailly, which were rebuilt with a more powerful 22 CV engine in 1934.

Mailly-Champagne is a small village inserted in Champagne vineyard on the north of the Montagne de Reims, 8 km south of Reims, and on the north of Épernay.
During preparations for the Normandy invasion (Operation Overlord), 346 British Avro Lancasters and 14 de Havilland Mosquitoes of RAF Bomber Command attacked the German military camp situated near the village of Mailly-le-Camp.
Wickenby played a large part in the bomber offensive, taking part in many of the major raids including: Berlin, Munich, Nuremberg, Essen, Mailly-le-Camp, and Caen.
He shot down a Me 110 in a raid over Mailly-le-Camp in Champagne on 3 May 1944 (The only kill he had without Sutherland, who's logbook records no flight that day).
The bride was Marie Louise d'Aspremont (1652–1692), the eighteen-year-old daughter of Charles d'Aspremont-Lynden, Count of Rekem, and Marie Françoise de Mailly.
His grandson, Louis de Mailly, had five daughters, of whom four (the Countess of Mailly, the Duchess of Lauragais, the Countess of Vintimille, and the Marquise de la Tournelle, afterwards the Duchess of Châteauroux) were successively, or simultaneously, mistresses of Louis XV.
