The company started as TUMA Holding in 1988, but changed its name to MajorStudio in 1990 when they bought a studio in Majorstuen.
The original station building was built in 1916, when Tryvandsbanen was completed.
In October 1942, Faye-Hansen organized a temporary hiding place in a flower shop in Majorstuen for Jewish refugees.
