Malfunkshun: The Andrew Wood Story is a 2005 documentary film based on the life of Andrew Wood, singer/songwriter for the Seattle-based alternative rock bands Malfunkshun and Mother Love Bone.


Malfunkshun

After Rees and Hunt left, Andy took over bass and drummer Regan Hagar was recruited from Maggot Brains.

A grouping of Malfunkshun demos and recordings from the early to mid-1980s were released on Stone Gossard and Regan Hagar's Loosegroove label in 1995, as Return to Olympus, which was the largest major label release of the band's material.

Matt Hayward

While on tour for Malfunkshun's 33rd anniversary in April 2013, Matt joined former Nirvana drummer Chad Channing on stage at Studio Seven in Seattle as a special guest.

He has written and recorded with various bands and notable musicians, including My Sister's Machine singer Nick Pollock, Clannad singer/bassist Ciaran Brennan, Edie Brickell, Malfunkshun guitarist Kevin Wood, and many others.

Mother Love Bone

Initially, the group was formed in 1987 out of the cover band Lords of the Wasteland which featured Wood, Gossard, Ament and Malfunkshun drummer Regan Hagar.
