It served as the basis for the unsuccessful 1979 stage musical Carmelina and the plot of the enormously successful stage musical Mamma Mia! and its 2008 movie adaptation.

Gränna

When Niklas Strömstedt wrote lyrics in Swedish for the musical Mamma Mia!, Glasgow was replaced by "Gränna" as the place which the singer calls from in the lyrics of the song Super Trouper.

Hilton McRae

He has performed in several musicals on the London stage, including Mamma Mia! and Miss Saigon, in which he played the part of The Engineer.

"When All Is Said and Done" was included in 2008 film version of the ABBA musical Mamma Mia!, performed by Sam Carmichael (as played by Pierce Brosnan), with one line – "slightly worn but dignified, and not too old for sex" – also sung by Meryl Streep.
