The chapel merged with Milton Street General Baptist chapel (later Mansfield Road Baptist Church) in 1901.
The Milton Street chapel was sold, and became a lecture hall for the adjacent Nottingham Mechanics' Institution.
Middleton was an accomplished organist, playing regularly at St Mark's Methodist Church, Ravensworth Road in Bulwell and stepping in to cover others, often at Mansfield Road Baptist Church in Nottingham.
A further schism in 1849 formed Mansfield Road Baptist Church (initially known as Milton Street General Baptist Chapel).
