Charles Howard, 3rd Earl of Nottingham (25 December 1610 – 26 April 1681) was the son of Charles Howard, 1st Earl of Nottingham by his second wife, the former Margaret Stuart.
Lady Margaret Stuart (1591 – 4 August 1639), married firstly as his second wife Charles Howard, 1st Earl of Nottingham, by whom she had issue; and secondly William Monson, Viscount Monson

After her first husband's death, in 1625, she married William Monson, 1st Viscount Monson.

Margaret Stuart (or Stewart) (c. 1591 – 4 August 1639) was the daughter of James Stewart, 2nd Earl of Moray, and Elizabeth Stuart, 2nd Countess of Moray.

She was married on December 29, 1627 to Alexander Stewart, Baron Garlies, son of Alexander Stewart, 1st Earl of Galloway and Grizel Gordon.
After the coronation, the Norfolk's retired to Kenninghall and did not return to London until the following autumn.
