Howard has performed with Anthony Davis, Gerry Hemingway, Georg Graewe, Mari Kimura, Mark Dresser, Yuko Fujiyama, Evan Parker, Thomas Buckner, George Lewis (trombonist) and many of the other most prominent musicians in his field.
In this 10 years JMT released the debuts of Steve Coleman, Greg Osby, Cassandra Wilson, Jean-Paul Bourelly, Robin Eubanks and Gary Thomas defining M-Base as their common ground, alongside recordings of musicians associated with the New York downtown scene as Mark Feldman, Mark Dresser and Hank Roberts (as Arcado String Trio) or the latter with Tim Berne and Joey Baron together as Miniature and with other bands.
Malaby moved to New York City in 1995 and has played with several notable jazz groups, including Charlie Haden’s Liberation Music Orchestra, Paul Motian’s Electric Bebop Band, Mark Helias’s Open Loose, Fred Hersch’s Trio + 2 and Walt Whitman project, and bands led by Mario Pavone, Bobby Previte, Tom Varner, Marty Ehrlich, Angelica Sanchez, Mark Dresser, and Kenny Wheeler.
