Shortly after, two adaptations were made in the USSR: a film in 1971 by Leonid Gaidai and a miniseries in 1976 by Mark Zakharov, featuring Andrei Mironov as Bender.
Specially for her Mark Zakharov staged the play A Funeral Prayer after the scenario by Grigori Gorin, who made up the character of the old Jewish woman Berta for Tatyna Pelttser.
