2001–02 Maltese First Division

Marsaxlokk were the champions while Mosta were the runners-up.Both teams were promoted to Maltese Premier League.

Darren Dykes

Following his release by Swindon, Dykes had an unsuccessful trial with Maltese side Marsaxlokk before returning to Buckingham Town.


André Schembri

Marsaxlokk signed Schembri during the January transfer window of 2005, along with another exciting young Maltese player, Cleavon Frendo from Pietà Hotspurs, Schembri finished the 2004–05 making eight appearances for Marsaxlokk, scoring twice, with the club recording a fifth place finish.

Jesmond Zerafa

Qormi spent the best part of the season languishing above the relegation zone, Zerafa added to the ranks with the signing of Marsaxlokk defender Stephen Wellman.

Kevin Sammut

Sammut went into the 2007–08 season hoping to help Marsaxlokk win more silverware, however following the previous seasons triumph, many of the clubs star players moved on to pastures new, the likes of Daniel Bogdanovic, Luke Dimech and Justin Haber to name a few.

Marsaxlokk Ground

Marsaxlokk would play their European games at the ground, but the club play their league matches at the Ta' Qali National Stadium, since most of the Maltese Premier League matches are played there, and also because the ground has a very low capacity.

Roderick Bajada

During the close season Sliema Wanderers signed Clayton Failla and Ryan Fenech, leaving Bajada’s first team opportunities limited, he decided to join Marsaxlokk on a season long loan, his new club were due to start this season in the Maltese Premier League, however following a guilty verdict on corruption case from the previous season, Marsaxlokk were demoted to the Maltese First Division.

Stephen Wellman

Wellman went into the 2007–08 season hoping to help Marsaxlokk win more silverware, however the club found themselves victims of their own success, as many of the stars of the previous season left the club for pastures new, the likes of Daniel Bogdanovic, Justin Haber and Jamie Pace to name a few.

William Camenzuli

On 5 August 2007, Marsaxlokk and Birkirkara reached an agreement over a swap deal which saw Camenzuli join Marsaxlokk and Shaun Bajada would join Birkirkara.
