Singing the Marseillaise, they marched towards Antrim, only to be defeated in the Battle of Antrim the next day.
In 1950, Jusuf Ronodipuro (then the Studio Head of Radio Republik Indonesia), requested that Cleber arrange Indonesia Raya for orchestra, upon which Cleber began a preliminary study on the history and actual impression the anthem intended to convey, and concluded that he sensed a Marseillaise impression in Indonesia Raya.
In 2009, it was particularly popular in Marseille, where it was promoted by the Association marseillaise de soutien culturel artistique et sportif (ASMASC), on the grounds that it promoted technical skills, agility and respect.
It was called the Marseillaise of the heart (Eduard Hanslick, a critic from Vienna in the past century) and was supposed to have saved Vienna the revolution (sentence of a biographer of the composer Johann Strauss I), while Strauss I himself was called the Napoleon Autrichien (Heinrich Laube, poet from the north of Germany).
