Some of the best known artists of the Florentine School are Filippo Brunelleschi, Donatello, Michelangelo, Fra Angelico, Botticelli, Lippi, Masolino, and Masaccio.
He may have been the first artist to create of oil paintings in the 1420s, rather than Jan van Eyck in the 1430s, as was previously supposed.
Between 1425 and 1427 the Master painted another triptych, this one depicting Saint Julian and given to the college of San Gimignano; it shows the influence of Masolino da Panicale.
