In a video posted on the band's YouTube page, Matt Thiessen and Matt Hoopes of Mono Vs Stereo explained that they had briefly changed the band's name to Indian Summer, feeling that Farewell Flight sounded too much like the names of other bands.
On November 1, 2007, lowercase people records released its first song ever, "Rebuild", a song written by Switchfoot's Jon Foreman and Relient K's Matt Thiessen for their 2007 Appetite for Construction Tour.
