However, there are no facilities between Maun and Kasane, so it is necessary for tourists to carry with them basic items such as food, water and tools.
The village started in 1915 as the capital for the Tawana people.
The university has four campuses: two in the capital city Gaborone, one in Francistown, and another in Maun.
