The municipality of Mecayapan is delimited to the north by Gulf of Mexico to the east by Pajapan, to the south by Chinameca and to the west by Soteapan State.
The municipality of Pajapan is delimited to the north by Mecayapan to the east by Gulf of Mexico and Coatzacoalcos, to the south by Chinameca and Cosoleacaqueto the west by Mecayapan.
The municipality of Soteapan is delimited to the north by Gulf of Mexico, to the east by Mecayapan, to the south by Chinameca and Acayucan, and to the west by Hueyapan de Ocampo and Catemaco.
The municipality of Tatahuicapan is delimited to the north, south and east by Mecayapan, and to the west by Soteapan.
