Mesmin

Clovis gave Euspicius and his nephew Mesmin the domain of Micy, near Orléans at the confluence of the Loire and the Loiret, for a monastery in 508.

Saint Mesmin (Maximin, Maximinus) (died ca. 520 AD) is a French saint associated with the Bishopric of Orléans.

Saint-Mesmin, Dordogne

The Auvézère has eroded a more than 100 meter deep gorge in limestone rock.

The commune is located in the north-east corner of the Dordogne department, on a hill above the river Auvézère.
