Before Meteora in 2003, and after their first studio release of Hybrid Theory, a few demos for the track began during their first documentary DVD Frat Party at the Pankake Festival (2001), plotting about the old times after the first album is released in 2000.

Before Minutes to Midnight in 2007, and after the second debut release of Meteora, the album features demos of songs, such as What I've Done as the "Original Demo" to the song, entitled as "Bang Three (What I've Done Original Demo)", recorded and released in the album before the final version of What I've Done is featured and recorded on Minutes to Midnight, charting the song as the first single on the charts.
The compilation album includes the demos of the songs like "Lost in the Echo" and "Until It Breaks" from their studio album Living Things and a demo of "Somewhere I Belong" from Meteora.
The video also premiered for 24 hours only on Yahoo! Music on April 29. That same day, "We Made It" went to radio stations worldwide. The video also featured cameo appearances from Styles of Beyond, Bishop Lamont and Lamar Odom. Chris Robinson directed the video. * The warehouse in which the parts of the music video was filmed is the same location at which Linkin Park's Meteora album artwork and album cover were done.
