During the 1980s, Seaman published Lovely Me, a biography of Jacqueline Susann, which was made into a television movie, Scandalous Me, starring Michele Lee.
His most prominent roles were as Detective Bobby Crocker, the trusted partner of Lt. Theo Kojak (played by Telly Savalas) on the popular 1970s CBS crime drama Kojak, and as the second husband of Karen Fairgate MacKenzie (played by Michele Lee), M. Patrick "Mack" MacKenzie, on the 1980s soap opera Knots Landing - a role he played from 1982 until the series ended in 1993.

The following season, he landed the role of M. Patrick "Mack" MacKenzie on Knots Landing, cast opposite Michele Lee, a role he played for eleven years.
After she sang in the film version of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, she became known for her roles in the films The Comic and The Love Bug, the latter becoming the biggest blockbuster movie of 1969.

To honor her mother, West was a technical adviser for a television biopic about her mother's life, Big Dreams and Broken Hearts: The Dottie West Story, produced by and starring actress Michele Lee.
She appeared on The Joan Rivers Show on the new Fox television network in 1986 alongside actresses Lucille Ball & Michele Lee.
