In 1943, he moved to London, where he served as Minister of Education in the exile government of Miloš Trifunović between June and August 1943.
Together with fellow party member Franc Snoj, Krek became the Slovene representative the Yugoslav exile governments of Slobodan Jovanović and Miloš Trifunović.
In 2011 season he scored 16 goals in 25 matches and became club's best and 2nd best top scorer of season after Serbian forward of Bunyodkor Miloš Trifunović.
