Prior to partition in 1948 he toured Kashmir with Aziz Kashmiri, editor of the Ahmadiyya weekly paper in Srinagar, looking for evidence supporting the claim of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad made in 1899, that the Roza Bal shrine of the holy man Yuz Asaf in Srinagar is the grave of Jesus of Nazareth.
Nasrullah Khan who was the leading attorney of his native city of Daska and a companion of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
In 1834, during the rule of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, the region consisting of Qadian and five other adjoining villages were given to Mirza Ghulam Murtaza, father of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad inturn for Military support in Military support in Kashmir, Mahadi, Kulu valley, Peshawar and Hazara.
It is also believed that in 1902 he became a follower of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian, Punjab.
Mirza Basheer-ud-Din Mahmood Ahmad, Son of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, was elected as Khalifa at the young age of 25, considered to be the 'promised son'.
It may be noted that Mirza Ghulam Ahmad himself wrote in his famous book, "Jesus in India" that the Maitreya Buddha was in fact Jesus Christ, who according to Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, travelled to India, Kashmir and Tibet (predominantly Buddhist regions at the time) to preach to the local Jews who had migrated there and converted to religions other than that of Judaism (Buddhism, Hinduism etc.).
