Azospirillum doebereinerae is a species of nitrogen-fixing bacteria associated with the roots of Miscanthus species.
Its dry weight annual yield can reach 25 tonnes per hectare (10 tonnes per acre).
On June 15th, 2011, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack and U.S. Senator Roy Blunt announced a pilot program to produce miscanthus in Missouri.
