Morgan was the first Miss World titleholder to officially resign, and the third not to finish her reign as Miss World, after Marjorie Wallace in 1973 and Lúcia Petterle in 1971.
It is also the home town of Miss World of 1974, Anneline Kriel, who was crowned with this title at the age of 19.
