Amadeus died 22 May 1308 apud lu Bacho, and was buried the next day (23 May) at Montagny.
Fernand Auberjonois (September 25, 1910, Valeyres-sous-Montagny, near Lausanne, Switzerland–August 27, 2004, Cork, Ireland) was a highly respected journalist who worked as the foreign correspondent of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Toledo Blade.
The painting remains in the monastery Chartreuse du Val de Bénédiction, Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, for which it was commissioned by a local clergyman, Jean de Montagny.
