The full name, Montilla-Moriles, was first used in 1891 during the Arreglo de Madrid, revised in Washington in 1911 and finally ratified in The Hague in 1925.

Working under the tutelage of Cordero, Montilla was general producer for several comedy and variety productions such as El Show de las Doce, Musicomedia, and the gossip show X-Clusivo.
