The 1999 Firestone Firehawk 500K was the second round of the 1999 CART FedEx Champ Car World Series season, held on April 9, 1999 on the Twin Ring Motegi in Motegi, Tochigi, Japan.
The 2002 Bridgestone Potenza 500 was the third round of the 2002 CART FedEx Champ Car World Series season, held on April 27, 2002 on the oval at Twin Ring Motegi in Motegi, Japan.
A NASCAR exhibition race was held in Motegi, Japan during the late 1990s in the hopes of getting people interested in stock car racing.
JST, as Tomikazu Fukuda, governor of Tochigi Prefecture (location of the Twin Ring Motegi track), waved the opening green flag to signify the start.
Due to concerns with possible radiation an independent survey of Motegi and the surrounding area was commissioned by FIM and Dorna Sports.
Currently the whereabouts of only one of those tubs is known, and it's the third one (RA099 3), last seen at the Honda collection hall at the Motegi circuit.
