Aldo Andretti

Aldo Andretti (born February 28, 1940 in Montona d'Istria, Italy (now Motovun, Croatia)) is the twin brother of Mario Andretti and the father of John Andretti and Adam Andretti.

Istrian Shorthaired Hound

The smooth and coarse-haired hounds were used for hunting in Istria (see the article on Motovun for photographs of the sort of mountainous terrain they were bred to hunt) while the Posavaz Hound is from the Sava Valley.

Josef Ressel

He worked for the Austrian government as a forester in the more southern parts of the monarchy, including in Motovun, Istria (modern-day Croatia).

The tale Big Joseph (Veli Jože) (1908) is still popular: it features a helpful and kind hearted giant named Jože, living in the area around the town of Motovun (Inner Istria).
