5 unusual facts about MyZone

MyZone

It covers transport on the government owned Sydney Buses, Sydney Ferries and Sydney Trains networks as well as private buses throughout the Sydney metropolitan area and in the adjoining regions of Newcastle, Wollongong and the Blue Mountains.

In December 2012 the Opal card was launched on Sydney's transport network, starting with a trial on Neutral Bay ferry services.

Then Shadow Minister for Transport Gladys Berejiklian criticized the replacement MyZone system, claiming the government merely replaced one clumsy system for another.

Additionally, the MyMulti intermodal ticket may be used on the light rail line.

From June 2011 the MyZone system was extended to the then privately operated light rail system.
